Auger filling is a method of depositing powder, granules and paste type products into nearly any type of container. Auger filling regulates the product flow by controlling the revolutions of a vertical auger screw located in the center of a hopper containing product.
The auger filler can be used in two ways:
- The auger filler can be set to take a predetermined amount of revolutions with a particular auger size, correlating to a weight, which can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the revolution count.
- The auger dispensing system can be controlled by a scale that measures the amount of product dispensed by the auger. The scale stops the auger from turning when the desired fill weight has been achieved.
